This will cause the furace to run too hot and will eventually damage the heat exchanger.

High temp limit switch should shut down furnace .... they range from 130*F to 190*F set points depending on furnace btu rating.

Furnace would probably 'short cycle' if not enough air flow due to too many registers closed off.
