Furnace power question

Fall is just around the corner, as is deer season, so I have a dumb question. Can I run my furnace on 12v and propane or does it require at least 110v? I have a generator but I'm curious if I need to leave it running while I'm away from the camper. Also, are you guys sleeping in your rigs with the generator running all night? I understand the safety concerns, just wondering what others are doing.
  • Add a fan based electric heater and it will save on propane use.

  • Our furnace fan uses 6.7 amps while on. Just a helpful number to figure things out for us.

  • 12 volt and propane are what you need. I won't sleep with a generator running. Add a modest solar system.
  • Furnace uses propane for heat source, 12VDC for control and fan.
BTW your furnace will kill a single battery overnight. So unless you have more than one battery and/or means to recharge you could be out of luck.
