FW Maintenance

I had the wheel bearings and seals replaced, and the brakes checked, last week. Went to a local "hitch shop", that also does trailer service. Price was =significantly= less than what "RV service shops" are charging around here.

At the same time, I wanted the rear bumper upgraded to be sure a bike rack wouldn't tear it off. He cut a piece of 4" x 3/16" tubing, welded it to the frame extensions already in place =and= was able to re-used the original aluminum cover sleeve and plastic caps. I don't use the bumper tube to store my stinky hose, so the fact it now won't fit isn't an issue. He welded a short receiver tube underneath and cut the sleeve to fit around it. Looks really slick.

Besides the pat on *your* back and the "attaboy" thread/post.....
Give the shop credit for their good work at fair prices -
by including their name and city!!..:S

    I visualized it, looks beautiful!

Frankly, didn't even thing about it, or I would have. Next time I go out to the storage area, I'll try and get one. Nothing real special, though.

Nice job. I too have a place that I take my trailers to after the warranty runs out. Significantly less than the local RV place and they service the big rig trailers. Have always been pleased with their work.

They're definitely not a full-service shop, but for suspension work (I'm thinking wet bolts), I'd certainly use them. They =build= small trailers, so know what they're doing. Wish I'd known about their prices years ago; I'd've done this sooner! :-) I'd've also had them build a full sub-frame and receiver a long time ago, too, as it is legal to double-up here in AZ.
