G4 LED 3 watt bulbs

I have a 2008 Cameo by Carriage 5th wheel that I just bought last year. Needed to replace some burnt out light bulbs in ceiling fixtures that are rated up to 10 watts. I ordered these bulbs and installed a bunch but they started burning out within hours. Anyone know why? G4 Dimmable Silicone LED Corn Light Bulb 3W 3014 SMD DC12V Cool White W
  • Welcome to the forums! :)

burned out could be a number of reasons, junk LEDs is my guess. Where did you buy from?

Check out m4led.com and superbrightleds.com ... Both great retailers with excellent customer service that stands behind their products.
  • I've read that some LED's are particular about the power supply voltage. Have you checked the voltage to your light fixtures? Are the LED's advertised for use in RV's?
  • They came from Hong Kong and are for 12 volt system. I have not put a meter in the fixtures to check the voltage but may have to do that next time I get up there. I will check those 2 web sites when I get time. Thanks to all
  • From what I understand the voltage in most RV's varies by quite a bit and can be hard on cheap LED's that aren't flexible with their voltage requirements.
  • There is no dimmer switch on the light that have burned out. I have not been back up to the trailer since my post about the LED problem.
  • I switched out some 3 watt bulbs for 1.5 watt bulbs and they seemed to be fine for the day I was there. Hopefully when I get back I will get a better idea if they are going to work for any length of time. Very busy with a my home reno so maybe next weekend
