You need to run the pump for the fuel station once a month or so. If not the gears will dry out then you'll have a problem. I've used stabil for years. Last summer a friend wanted to borrow my portable Honda gen. Started on second pull with gas over a yr old. Never had any issues. When I had a boat, put the stabil in and put it away for the winter. Started right up in summer.
WOW! Is this really true? This seems totally impractical. I can't believe people with fuel stations in their toy hauler actually use the pump monthly.
I have bought 2 used toyhaulers before that had sat for some time. Replaced the pumps on both. Rubber gears dry out and refuse to flex. Pump will not turn. So I go out about once a mo and put the nozzle into the fill and run it for a while. No need to worry about rust as most of these tanks are some type of poly material. But the gas will stay good with Stabil. I have used it for many years in boats, bikes and campers. Do some research on fuel station pumps or transfer pumps. Some guys take out the gears and sand them down because they swell when dry. I just replace the gears or the pump. Got tired of doing that so I exorcise it & eliminated the issue.
