JUJUBUBBAJR - I am not disputing your basic argument that a gas engine makes more sense under a lot of circumstances, but one thing you need to factor into your math is the fact that you would get a certain percentage of that $8000 back when you sell or trade. Using your figures, your breakeven point will be lower then 61,500 miles; My SWAG would be around 50% lower.
