I have the same camper, and when I'm boondocking I use a Champion 4000 gen from Tractor Supply $299, and although not as quiet as a Honda, its not near as loud as a construction type unit. In most situations where there are no hookups people are farther apart, and you can take 3 small pieces of plywood, and make a shroud for it to kill some noise, and protect it from the weather.
Now this makes a great deal of sense, especially when boondocking which is what my wife and I plan to do. I've spent 57 years living in BIG cities so I dont want to vacation next to others in a parking lot.
I thought to protect all the componets in the RV that an inverter generator was needed?
