Generator
It is necessary to have a generator in a 5th wheel, I know some have them some don't. We are looking to go to a 5th from our class a and we really don't use ours a lot now.

Having the genny means that you are not limited on where you can go & how long you can stay there.
No genny, no solar, no inverter & stock batterys means that for anything more than a night or maybe two is going to be your limit of independence. You will be limited to the pricey CGs that have power.
Having the genny, even if it is not enough to run the AC, opens up a whole new world of RVing experience. There is much to be said for having a large battery bank, a decent sized inverter & a genny.
