The way I figured it was two-fold:
a) GVWR. The weight of the pin and everything in the truck should not exceed this number. Better if it's about 80%
b) RAWR. Rear axle weight rating. What the rear should not exceed.
Truck specs will also tell you the maximum trailer weight it can pull.
Many people take their truck/fivers to scales and weigh axles individually. It does get a bit more complicated than a MH, but you're smart to ask all this up front!
