Golden Falcon or Holiday Rambler Presidential

We owned a 36' 2002 HR Presidential until 2011 and sold it to our son. It only went into the shop one time for a factory recall right after purchase in 2002. Other than minor issues that I fixed it has been rock solid. Did take it in for refer recalls but that is not on HR.

We've had our 02 HR Presidental for several years and are very happy with it. I'm 6'4 and can fit in the shower with no problem. That was one of my criteria!

As you can see from my signature we have an older HR Presidential. We lived in it for 3 years. We have had only minor problems and it is a quality RV. I can't comment on the Golden Falcon. Assuming neither one has any major problems and they both have about the same floor plan I'd go with the one that gives you the most storage and counter top space. Those were the main reasons we bought ours.

Yeh, I thought they went under. That must have been a really old website I found in my search. We've looked at Titaniums and the quality was good but the floor plans weren't - especially in the bed room/bath room areas. Craig

Falcon was made by Glendale as well as Titanium cant say if they were better or worse, Titaniums were considered to be among the best. Glendale closed there doors in 2010 I believe.

The Golden Falcon name used to come up often on this site and I figured they went under cuz I haven't seen the name for a long time. I just did a search and it looks like they are still going so I don't know why they aren't heard of more. Glendale RV is the parent mfgr. and they also make Titanium which you probably see around Montana. Golden Falcon is their top unit and the owners claimed they were second to very few. I remember people saying they went from a Golden Falcon to a Titanium and they said it was a big mistake. It's definitely worth considering. BTW, your DH won't stay on the phone long enough for me to tell him anything! Craig

Thanks Brian and Cousin Craig for the advice so far!! Good idea, Brian, to do what you recommended. I did stand in the shower, sit on bed, couch, etc. But need to do the other things you recommend. I need to get my husband to do the same, as he is quite a bit taller than I. I'm not sure we will do the same with the Holiday Rambler as it is a 4 hour drive from us. We have only looked at pics and spoke to the owner a few times on the phone.

I do not know anything about the falcon but the HR Presidential was their top of the line in 2002. AND HR units had a great reputation in that time frame. This was pre Monaco downgrade in quality. If everything is truly equal, no old leaks, everything working, both floorplans work, I would go with the rambler. But again, I know nothing about the other unit.

Hey, there's finally somebody I know on here! You're supposed to abreviate husband with " DH". Don't ask what the D stands for! I forgot to tell your DH to watch for cracks in the walls especially around the slides and front overhang areas. Cracks happen from flimsy frame/ construction. Look for cracked caulking anywhere on the roof and then check all over for water damage. About 10 yrs ago Kris' uncle bought an old 5 er that he thought looked good and one whole back corner was totally rotted out under the paneling. I'm working OT baby sitting a fussy chiller. Hopefully they are close together. Go spend at least half an hour in each. Simulate the type of activities you will be doing. Sit at table, sit on couch, actually sit on the toilet and stand in shower or tub, make sure the one you choose suits you. When we were trailer shopping we looked at a lot of different trailers and finally the Jayco said "I am the floorplan you want". Check out counter space especially if you like to cook.
