I'm the OP. Bought a new torque wrench; plan to torque to 120 ftlbs and be more careful how I use it. Also return wrench to "0", though in this case, they say return it to "30", after each use.
Also bought a DeWalt cordless impact wrench, 3 replaceable batteries, which I hope will help with roadside changes.
As one poster said, I suspect I got some low quality stainless steel lug nuts that started all this. That's all I've done differently in my 17 years of pulling a 5th wheel. I bought a new set of chrome plated steel lug nuts (I hope, can't tell really), as someone recommended.
Found a good trailer place to do all this, plus check my Never Lube axles. Doc found another da@#ed melanoma in situ. Just want to deal with that for now. Thanks all. Last post.
