. The LT235/85-16 E R250 or the Ribs @ 3042 lbs = 6084 lbs is a very poor choice for your 7000 lb axles. The tire simply doesn't have enough capacity unless the 7k axles were a upgrade from 5.2k or 6k OEM.
I would tend to support this statement!
I don't. The axles don't weigh 7k lbs. They can carry that.
Thus as long as your not over 6k of weight on that axle, then the tires are fine.
My 7k axles carry 11,240 lbs, or approximately 5,620 each.
However, if your going to go light on tires, you better know for sure what each axle and if possible each tire is carrying.
All in here "know" that the axle doesn't weigh 7,000#:R we know it can carry 7,000#, thus the reason most would "support" that amount of weight that "might" be put on the axle with tires that could "carry" that amount of weight...just not recommended to use "E" rated tires that can only handle 3042# each on 7,000# axles...though it appears you either have higher weight carrying axles on your 5er that you don't need, or you don't carry a lot of weight in your 5er...I too know what my 5er weighs, but wouldn't put E rated tires on 7,000# weight rated axles if 5er has a GVW of 15,000# or higher. My 5er has a GVW of 16,950#, loaded to 16,100# ..so I won't cut corners on safety by putting E rated tires on the 5er...not even the RIBS...I tend to err to the side of safety.
