I would stick with the GY G or H tires as they are a very high quality tire with an excellent track record the G's did have some problems pre 07 but that is all behind them. They did pay for damages on those that had problems and the still will if you were to have a problem. I have ran one set of GY Wrangler E's, two sets of GY G's and one set of GY H tires all USA Made and never even a flat with many thousands of miles and a lot of those miles are in the South West.
Insurance claim, not for me!
Sailuns may be fine but I KNOW from experience GY's are trouble free.
The last set of 614 tires had a date code Feb 07 and they lasted 2.5 years before I found one coming apart, I was lucky this time because I had no damage. Changed to 17.5 Sumitomo and my tired problems ended.

Early 07 is when they changed the GY G614 from what I have been told and that seems to be the cut off of the problem era.
I was told it was late Nov 2006 when they were changed, it's all PR BS.
We travel with others that have them in the 2010 2011 time frame and they are having problems

My GY614's that are on my 5er now were manufactured in 2010 with a lot of miles on them and all in the mountains and I've had zero issues with them. 5er loaded to 16,100#...in fact, the 0606 build date on the original tires I had; one that lost it's tread, ended up being caused by a weak spring pack, and GY still paid for and mounted 4 brand new G614 tires on my 5er...and THEY'RE the one's that found the weak spring pack...I keep the tires aired to 110 psi, just like tire manufacturer and 5er manufacturer recommend.
