Have you even talked to a Paint shop? I think you will be surprised by the COST of what seems to be a simple paint job. I think you will overrun your costs and since(if) you cashed the check you are stuck. Doug
Not sure if this question was directed back at me (the OP) but based on the outrigger supports being bent, I took it to a shop to have them do the work. They did mention that it will likely be more than the original estimate but the insurance company is aware and will deal with paying any adjustments.
Yes, it was to you. Have you tried to get a Paint estimate? Did you cash the check? Doug
Yes, I cashed it but I am not doing the work. I took it to a shop to have the work done, all of it. He said the J wrap usually comes painted but they have shop to match paint if it's off or scratched. Insurance company is aware and it's a shop the adjuster deals with all the time. When it's fixed, I pay the amount of the original estimate (my check plus my deductible) , anything extra the adjuster gets the insurance to pay for. I thought that was a clunky way to do it but whatever, the net is - I only pay my $300 deductible. According to the adjuster and the shop, this practice is business as usual. Good thing the RV is usable. Shop said he couldn't even give me an ETA on parts. Could be months.
