Just because a unit has a back cap does not mean there aren't windows in it!

I agree that a cap makes a unit look much more upscale. Also, the caps are usually shaped such that it helps water run off better and provides some protection from the weather to the top of the rear window(s). Our Citation had one as does our new Corsair and it looks great!

I have a 337RLS on order. I will be going to the factory to pick it up and take it to the dealer for prep, saved me $700 minus the cost of driving 65 miles.

Because I want to be able to walk behind it and still be proud of it. Trailers without them look cheap! It also effects mileage slightly!

So they have the lower end Reflection, fine leave it off, but make it an factory option. However the Solitude is "supposed to be" their flagship line, put a rear cap on it standard. If you want to be an upscale company act like one.

That was 1 of 3 reasons we did not pull the trigger..

We have a 2015 337RLS and we have not experienced that. I'm pretty active on both the Grand Design Owners Forum and the Facebook page and have not heard that before.

Your plan to check with the dealer sounds like to right place to start. If you're not getting results there, a call to GD Customer Service will get you handled!

Grand Design is a stand up company and will look after you. We were very close to purchasing one of their units and likely will in the future if they keep their excellent customer service.
