They aren't gunsafe thick metal, but pretty heavy duty and they do have a locking mechanism. The real theft deterrent would be to have them under the carpet out of site with your SxS on top of them..?

My trailer came with one big one that runs across the width of the garage- However, the bottom is just a plastic tub. For sure you would want to install a metal shroud to protect some road hazard from ripping the bottom of the tub out and leaving your guns on the road behind you.
