I wanted to provide an update to those of you who kindly made comments and suggestions. I ordered, received and installed a Hensley BD-3 hitch but for whatever reason it had no effect on the chucking or a noticeable improvement in the ride quality. I was very surprised at this so I worked with Aaron at Hensley to try a few of his suggestions but still no improvement. I decided to return the hitch under the 30 day satisfaction guarantee program.
I also ordered a MOR/ryde Rubber Pin Box and installed it on my trailer. It did result in a small improvement but not enough to make it acceptable. I ordered the -04 shear spring version since my trailer GVWR is 12.5K but I think I may need the -03 shear spring version since after several test drives I am only seeing about 3/4" of movement of the pin box slides. I plan to call MOR/ryde this week to see what they think.
Additionally I am adding air bags to my truck this week to complement the lower stableloads and to bring the truck level when towing. I am not sure if this will have any impact on the chucking and ride quality but I will report back.
