Hartford Auto Ins? Check this out.

FYI Folks -- They are called tickler or teaser rates. The companies ALL do it and Progressive is one of the worst I've ever dealt with. The prograssive "agent" I spoke with by phone insisted that my policy was 2 years old and it was actually not even 1 year since I took it out. She insisted there had been a rate increase but I had NOT been caught up in it be cause my policy was for 2 years. The increase was more than 42% and I had ZERO claims. I finally gave up and went somewhere else and told the agent at SF that if they pulled the same garbage on me I would leave as fast as I got there. How do you think the companies can keep advertizing 100's of dollars save by switching. Teaser rates should be illegal!!

The wife and I had Farmers (FIG) since '61. We had everything we owned including my small trucking business through the same agent. FIG has done nothing but raise our insurance costs a huge amount starting several years ago with all kinds of excuses why they had to.
FIG raised our rates 600 bucks on the house because I had taken out a yardcard and maxed it to pay for a zero turn mower at rates even non of my banks could match.

We shopped around and finally went with Hartford. Much better coverage and one hell of a bunch cheaper. We've cut our insurance costs about 45 percent by going with Hartford.

I support AARP regardless of insurance needs.

AARP does something for me, they fight to keep SS and Medicare for me. I don't know of anyone else who does that?

We have had Hartford Insurance for years, on the house and all vehicles.
While I don't much like AARP for their stance on Second Amendment issues, I thought it might be worthwhile to check on the AARP price for Hartford Insurance. Imagine my surprise to find it MORE EXPENSIVE by about 15%!
AARP keeps sending us their mailings, and we keep throwing them away.
The same goes for other insurance companies. Now and then, we get a mailing that claims to be able to save us money if we change to THEIR insurance. Once in a while, I will go check on it, and every time they have said "No, sorry, we can't match that price."
So, I stay with The Hartford companies.

JD power says they're top of the heap.

Allstate is getting us for $2300.00 annually for 2 cars and the trailer.
Wawa quoted $972.00 yearly for just the truck and minivan.

I'd have to call them for a quote on the fiver or maybe just go with Good Sam.

I think it's time to say C-ya to the "Good Hands" people.

Just checked Travelers online quote.
They're way higher than what we're shelling out with Allstate.

Liberty Mutual with the Pentagon Federal discount was low and attractive.

I had Progressive for quite a few years, bundled vehicles, rv and home and had great rates, no problems, shopped around like I alway's did and found out that Farm Bureau had better coverage at lower rates....so been with them almost 3 years now...and I shop around like I alway's have and have yet to find anyone around our area that can beat them for coverage and the rates to obtain the coverage I have.


I too was a member of AARP, but never used any of their"Recommended lesser rates insurance" benefit's, I didn't see the savings they so highly tout , never saw it and have since not re-newed my membership with them, won't support them any more either. They did nothing for me in the 8 yrs I was a member...

I had Hartford but not thru AARP and it was cheaper. You may want t to check. The "creep" happened to me so now I am with Safeco. I check every 2…3 years and have no allegiance to insurance companies.

When you consider the amount of money AARP is raking in from the myriad of marketing arrangements with insurance companies of all types (and it's in the millions), cell phone providers, etc. it's no surprise to me. It's why I'm not a member of AARP. They are only interested in enriching themselves and the politicians they buy in DC.

Hartford and United Healthcare gotta pay them some way and it sure isn't gonna be out of their profits.............

Allstate just raised our total package $720.00 a year.
What the hell is going on with the insurance.
Pretty pissed about it.
Seems impossible to make any gains lately.

We went through the shock of seeing our insurance on the fifth wheel alone rise just over 100 per cent. Bill came in for 1200+ for a year! Called around, GEICO, etc. and Good Sam was the lowest at this point in time. Now we are insured for 354.00 a year. Wow! Talk about a kick in the rear and I didn't even get kissed before they tried to put me in orbit.
