Hartland ST235 80R 16 tires

We have a 2013 Heartland Cyclone 4100, 3 axle, 5th Wheel, pulled by an '08 F350 Ford. We went into Discount Tire, thinking of buying 6 LT tires for the trailer, after having 2 blowouts in 1 day! They did not recommend the LT tires, so we purchased Hartland ST235. I have not been able to find any reviews on these tires and want to know if there is any of you with personal experience with this brand of tire. Also, what are the opinions on LT vs. ST tires?
  • Get them off your trailer ASAP... Get either LT tires, Sailun's, or Goodyear G614's.
  • I found out that most discount tires won't put on LT tires on a trailer placard with ST tires for their safety reasons because of liability issues.I had to take my rims in to them in the back of my pick up and buy my LT tires and have them mounted that way and I in stalled them myself. I even have a trailer that is placard with LT tires and they gave me some concerns about LT's on mine instead of ST 's My brother bought his LT tires at walmart and they would not touch the trailer. He had to take them off hiself and reinstall them himself as they would not touch his trailer.
  • Hartland tires?
Never heard of that brand? Google search showed that tire stories back east sell them. Never heard or seen them on the west coast. I could not find out who the manufacture was?
Personally I have the LT Goodyear "G" rated tire and have had no problems. I tow a 13K 5th wheel. Go to Les Schwab, good service and warranty. You can go to any Les Schwab not just the one you bought the tire from if you have any problems.
  • Distributed by American Pacific Industries. Some would call them "China Bombs"
    API/Hartland
I would take them back! Go some where that will install LT tires.
  • ...yeah, anything to sell a tire and make money....they don't care if OP has another blow out by selling them some kind of junk tires.....

OP, if you had E rated tires, you could have went with Duravis 250's, even the more pricey Michelin XPS RIBS....Again, that's if tires were E rated tires...Hard to believe "all" they had was some "no-name" tire...jerks
  • They probably sold you what they had on hand. A bird in hand.....
  • I've had ST235/85x16 tires and wouldn't have another one. IMO Discount Tire did you a disservice by selling you ST tires, unless your axle rating would not allow you to have LT "E" rated tires installed, and your wheels won't allow more than 85 psi so you could use LT "G" rated tires.
