I beg to differ. In the photo it looks like the hitch adds about as much length as a typical bumper pull hitch; note where the nose of the fifth wheel overhangs the hitch. A crew cab truck is about 20 feet long. A long Bumper pull with hitch is about 40 feet. I think any normal long fifth wheel will be less than 45 feet with that wheeled hitch.
The length increase over a normal fiver setup will be the spacing from the truck rear axle to the dolly axle. In the range of 6-7 ft more.
I think that's correct. I still think my calculation is also correct. That is, the overall length for a long fifth wheel in this configuration will be close to 65 feet, but probably not over it. Still, the tandem towing laws may kill this as a viable solution for me, along with the added cost.
