We have a 2012 Sundance 3100RB which we are happy with. The Sundance line has the Sundance and the lighter version Sundance XLT which appear to be about 3,500-4,000# lighter on the GVWR (14,000 vs. 10,000#).
I guess the question I'd look at is will the XLT or light trailer last as well as the heavier trailer and what am I giving up for the lighter weight? Tank sizes, insulation rating, fridge size, oven size, # of slides, sqft of floor space, etc... On the Heartland site you can do a side by side comparison between the XLT and comparable non XLT version to see what you give up to save the weight.
There is a bunch of information on the Heartland Owners group forum and Heartland does monitor and answer issues raised in the forums.
Good luck in your search.
