Sorry about the vague title. :o
Thor was no help at all. They told me they sold off the Thor California brand to MVP RV's who then failed before they could start. With that sale went all of their records. Oh well.
I have an enormous envelope stuffed with manuals for every item in the trailer (fridge, microwave, hetaer, A/C, etc.), I just don't have one for the trailer itself. I would like things like wiring diagrams and information on the slides as well as maintenance procedures and schedules.
Did you check out the THOR link?
It won't have diagrams etc. but sould have specs on the 5th wheel
I have all of that information. I just wanted a manual because I thought it would have diagrams, maintenance info, show me where all of the switches are and what they do, etc.
This is my first camper and apparently I am naive or simply expect too much. I have been able to acquire this type of documentation for all of my old cars, antique tractors, BBQ grilles, tools, appliances, children's toys, etc., so I naturally thought I could get one for my camper.
Guess I'll just figure it out as I go along. Thanks for all of the replies!
The RV world is sorta like that old military saying, "never forget that your weapons were made by the lowest bidder". RV mfrs are about the money, first and foremost; if they can make it cheaper, they will. This includes niceties like an actual manual, specific to your model RV. Even when you buy a new one, and you get all the paperwork, it's still very generic as regarding the coach itself. This is where a good PDI before final paper-signing is essential. Almost all the "old hands" here will recommend that you video your PDI as well as make the dealer do as thorough a job as possible. Even if buying a used RV from a private party, ask them to give you a demonstration of everything possible and, again, video it to review later. As a side-benefit, especially with a dealer, you also have "in writing", their instructions on how to operate something and, should something happen, and their instructions weren't correct, you've got them on the record. :B Can you imagine if your car or truck were delivered with separate instruction manuals for each and every major component, a separate warranty for each one =and= you'd have to go to the component mfr to get warranty service for that component? That's an RV in a nutshell.
