Help me choose 5th Wheel Toy Hauler

The choices are overwhelming... And not enough! Here's what we want:
Under 40 ft.
10' garage is fine (we hope to get an electric golf cart to use at Disney)
We have two teens (boy & girl) who will need to sleep separately in it.
Hopefully the teens will not be coming with us when we retire in a few years.
I want a fireplace.
Husband wants 4-door fridge/freezer. He also wants a headboard that does not tilt forward and night tables on both sides of bed. (picky man)
We don't care whether there's a loft, but there's got to be room for storing the kids' clothes, sneakers, sheets, towels, pillows, etc.

QUALITY CONSTRUCTION. Doesn't have to be all high-end upgrades, but does have to be built to last.

We've looked at Voltage, Cyclone and Fuzion in person and I've looked at Jayco's Seismic online.

What do you think? Any suggestions?
  • "I forgot about KZ. I'll have to look again at what they've got.

I found one that is a low-end unit that has most of what we want. What does everyone think of Keystone Mountaineers?"

I have a KZ although not a toy hauler. No problems in my 5 years of ownership that aren't my fault.

I don't think a keystone Mountaineer would be considered a low end unit.

Interesting. I spoke with a salesperson recently who said they used to carry Heartland but chose to drop the line. Heartland makes Cyyclone, don't they?

Yes, Heartland makes Cyclone. Some get good service. With all our issues with our Cyclone, when having to deal directly with Heartland, they were terrible.

Like I said, some have had good service. But we'll never get another Heartland product and will never recommend them.

As for opinions, we hate our Cyclone. One breakdown after another. Just my .02.

As for price, the lower the better. Except not "you get what you pay for" low :)

  • Not included in your list are the KZ Infernos, Keystone Raptors, and the Forest River XLRs. Might want to check them out. If memory serves me correct, Jayco and KZ offer the best warranty.

  • You might look at Columbus toyhaulers

    What is your price range????

You might check out the Arctic Fox toyhaulers. They have a good frame under them and a good reputation for quality.

Except they stopped making a 5er toy hauler a couple years ago (not that I disagree with their rep for quality)

  • If quality is your concern, check out New Horizons RV. link

Of course, quality costs, probably over $100,000
