Help with tires

I bought a 2016 flagstaff 8528rlikws which has some crappy power touring tires on it. I'm looking at the Maxxis tires or open to any other suggestions. I've done lots of reading but getting overwhelmed with all the options. Thanks
  • I don't often weigh-in on these tire threads because they get out of hand real fast. But since I caught it on the first page, I'll go for it!

In the last 2 years, I've invested a substantial sum of money in tires for different work and equipment trailers (plus boat and RV). By a quick count, I have a total of 24 Gladiator ST's (from LR C to LR G). So far, they've held up extremely well. Due to the nature of their use, they don't get checked very often and since my employees get a mind of their own sometimes, they see all kinds of speeds.

You should be able to get LR "D" tires in that size for about $80 each. Your listed GVWR seems way too high for the factory to have installed LR C tires. For my money, I'd go with LR "E" tires, which should be in the $90 each range (if my memory serves me correctly).

Sorry about that, my current tires ar 225/75-r15, load range c. My gvwr is 9847. I'm not sure if I should go with st or lt tires. Doesn't seem to be a lot of reputable brands with a 15 inch wheel for lt tires. I'm not sure about the axles

Suggest LT "D" or "E" rated tires depending on how much tire room you have.

In that size/weight, I'd just stick with ST tires. My top two choices would be Carlisle HD or Provider, in 225/75R/15 load D. Both are new style STs with cooler running, and 81 mph speed rating.

    Check them out at E-trailer.

I run the Maxxis ST tires and have had great luck with them.

  • Without any tire info such as your tire size/load range and axle rating/trailers GVWR your going to get input all over the place from 17.5" tires rated at 6000 lb each back down through the tire size spectrum down to a cheap bias ply tire.

What are your touring tire brand/size and load range ?? What size axles are on your trailer ??? What is the trailer GVWR ??
