Help

My neighbor was filling up her black tank to flush it and forgot to open drain and flooded her trailer. When this happened, her Atwood hot water tank over heated and pressure relief valve opened and drained tank. She shut off power to tank and later refilled and turned it back on. In 12 minutes relief valve opened up and drained.
What is causing tank to over heat and how to correct this ?
She has a SunnyBrook 5th wheel

Water was connected to black tank flush so NO water was supplying RV Plumbing System and Water Heater was left ON...

The t-stats failed allowing it to overheat and T&P Relief Valve OPEN to relieve the pressure built up from overheat the water.

What Atwood WH Model does she have?
    Electric and Propane?
Older then 2004 year or newer then 2004 year?

What heat source was she using?

An Insurance claim is in order! Possibly totaled.
