He's so confused

On my way up to Montana I saw a guy at a rest stop checking the air pressure in his 5th wheel trailer tires. Talking to him I learned he had a previous blowout and had replaced all tires with G rated tires. He told me the tires are stamped for max pressure of 110 PSI and he was letting air out of his hot tires so they don't go over 110 PSI. He told me his tires would blow if the pressure got over 110 PSI. He was not open to anything I had to say. Politely I walked away while holding my tongue.
  • Happens on RV net as well. People go in great depth and detail about why something is not a good idea. They can get 4 pages of people saying the same thing. All it takes is one person to agree with them or give them the answer they want.
  • It must have been his buddy who told me that the second battery in our diesel pickups is strictly for an rv and has nothing to do with the truck.
  • At the next rest stop he will have to do it again as the tires will run hotter building more pressure.. He will really be confused then.
  • Sometimes you just can't help people. Hopefully his tires were overrated for the weight to where the 5PSI he bled out won't make a big difference.
  • Sounds like my neighbor that changed the oil on his Honda generator and re-filled it with 2 stroke oil. WHY?...because he already had that oil on hand and it was about the same size of his chain saw.

You can lead a horse to water, just can't make it drink!!

Was the 5er large enough to need "G" rated tires?
