This morning I made some shims out of tin shingles. I made them 3 inches long and 1.5 inches wide. I cut the hole in the middle out with a coal chisel . Took about an hour to make eight of them. Putting two on each leg took out all of the slack. Can't wait to hook up the rig.
I have a Curt Q5 (20K) and I have heard the dampers that Curt sells only last a short time before they are worn out.
I will see how long the tin shims last. I expect that the tin will be damaged over time.
If they work I will look for a harder material that I can cut and shape.
