I have at times locked my Patriot. I run a combination cable lock around the base. I then padlock the cable to the release locking arm and then padlock the cable to the front rail. Yes a semi serious thief could cut the cable. But I guess removing a portion of the probability is better than finding out someone stole the top part just for kicks.
But who would know that you can just pull up on the two handles and the top comes off? It would take a knowledgeable person to know. How common would that be?
