We looked at about every option. Our first fiver didn't come with a receiver hitch on the back. Other fivers we watched going down the road which had bikes on the back seemed to bounce really bad, so we decided not to go any further with mounting anything on the rear.
With our short bed obviously bikes were not going in there, nor did I want them mounted on the Moryde pin box.
Someone told me about a front mounted receiver called "Bodiak". I looked them up on the internet and ordered one for my specific truck. We have been hauling 2 bikes in front of the truck now for almost 2 years with no issues.
What is nice about the Bodiak receivers is that, depending on your truck, most simply bolt on to your tow hooks. I can put mine on or take it off in about 5 minutes. While traveling I leave the Bodiak on and simply take the bike rack out while camped.
