Question: If there was enough force to crush the 16k hitch...did the front of the 5th wheel get destroyed? Did you have the frame checked out?
NOT!!! You should never purchase a hitch that's rated for less than your RV GVWR...that would just be playing with fire and your safety!! There MAYBE enough safety margin built into one but to put your life or someone else's life on the line to test that theory would just be plain stupidity!!
