One thing about the Reese Elite wrap around latch is that when you get ready to unhook, you need to put the truck in reverse and let it bump back easy against the pin to relieve any pressure against the latch so it can unwrap. Then it is very easy. Had the same issue with my previous Pullrite that also had the wrap around latch. Once you figure that out, there is no problem.
No problem with my Elite, there has been some rare occasions , but normally it comes undone without any movement from the truck once I'm ready to unhitch.
I hear what you're saying. Many people seem to like the Reese hitch. It has given me trouble since I got it. My old Husky worked much better. Jaws on the Husky would open 90%, Reese maybe 60%. It is at the dealer now. It is covered by the Ford warranty. We'll see what happens.
I wish mine worked as well as yours or my old Husky.
