This will be my first FW I have towed a 30 boat 10 wide on a triaxle for years I know I need a slider and my question is Reese vs Curt. For about the same cost Curt hitch has a 12 inch slide vs 10 on Reese. How much more turn will that two inches give me. My RV is 8.5 wide. Still waiting on my new babies build date

You may not =need= a slider, as most new FWs have cut back front corners to allow tighter turns without a slider. My very square-front Komfort will not hit the cab on my '02 D'max (see sig) going forward. ALL will hit in reverse; the slider just gives you more room before you do. Since I'm being called a fanboy anyway, I'll step in and tell you that B&W makes a great FW hitch, slider or not, and they are a great company to deal with. Do some reading and see how many comments you see about people who spent extra on a slider, only to never use it or, when they =did= want to use it, it was rusted in place. Now, if you want to spend some =real= money on a hitch, you can go with an auto-slider and not have to worry about it. Choice is up to you.
FWIW, my own B&W Companion is set as high and as far forward as it will go. According to B&W this puts the center of my king pin only about 1.75" in front of the centerline of my axle. I have about 8" bed clearance, and need all of it to get to my usual camping spot.
