Back in 13, I talked with B&W tech, as it seemed to me, using their rail mounting instructions at that time, would be too close to cab. They did not have custom rail frame mounts available then, for SuperDuty, using Patriot hitch, just universal brackets. The tech told me, that farthest rear position would put pin 1" ahead of axle center. Not sure where from axle center, that full forward would be, and custom mounting brackets were later available, possibly changing axle center distances.

I would doubt you are over the rear axle with full rearward position, most likely kingpin is behind centerline rear axle. The position of the "straight" edge does make a difference fore and aft.

Not wanting to hijack this thread, but I have the Patriot and it's in it's lowest setting and have in rearward most position. In storage, so don't recall where straight edge is, but B&W allows for this don't they? Yes it moved trailer back from truck, but kingpin is still mid point of axle/forward. Did change the weight distribution front to rear, but not enough where I'm too worried.

You have a good looking set-up. It isn't mentioned so I will add and you can tell us that it's taken care of. Make sure the trailer and truck are loaded for travel before lowering the hitch. I don't know anything about B&W hitches, so this is just a general observation. If you put gear in the truck bed or more weight at front or rear of the trailer, it will effect final level. I have found that water is a big factor. The grey and black tanks are usually empty and the fresh is full when I pull out. So I am carrying about 90 gallons, which comes to nearly 750 pounds of water. Then, for me, weight moves forward as water goes from fresh to grey or black. I might be overly sensitive because the weight of the 5th wheel I am using gets close to the truck's rear axel limit. If you have been pulling 5th wheels since 2013, you probably know all about this, and more than me, already.

On LEVEL ground measure from bottom of RV frame to ground at front and rear. Weigh the trailer axles separately also.

Agree. There is a scale nearby. Today it's a tad cold outside and gross... maybe Monday I'll fool with it :B
