Do you have a short bed or a standard bed? A short bed is aproximately 5', a standard bed is aproximately 6.5', and a long bed is aproximaely 8'.

If you have a short bed you would definitely need a slider hitch. If it's a standard bed it's up to you. I heve a standard bed and never have needed a slider.

Musicman54 can I ask you what you paid for your pullrite slider? Is sit a newer model?

Thanks for the thoughts. I am going with the Pullrite slider as most places I have spoken to have recommended this. I stopped at Cliffs Welding and he feels the same as I have a short bed diesel 2500. I will follow his recommendation as well. Pricey however.

6.5' = short bed
8' = long bed

Those 5' things shouldn't even be called a bed...

look on craigslist for your area, their are at least 5-8 around me for sale, average price 600.00

The Anderson hitch would be a choice i would look at,you can flip the connector around and gain approx 8 inches, should work on a GM that has a little more axel set back.Simple and Light with no bed rails.

I went with the Pullrite Superglide. Great hitch and worry free. Also went with the Superrails which mount under the bed. Very easy to remove the hitch when I need full access to a clean bed.

My research when I was in the market for a hitch told me the Pullrite was the way to go if you need a slider. B+W Companion if you don't. So........... I got a Reese.
