If you have those white RV'ers hoses, those things really can take a kink. Mine came with the RV when I got it and they still lasted 10 years, and I'm a full timer. I only replaced them because the brass fittings where bunged up.
One of my two hoses might have stayed in the compartment with multiple kinks until I needed it only once or twice a year, but never developed a leak.
I would only wonder how good that idea would be if you did much cold weather camping. It's hard enough to make 3 foot diameter hose coils when the hose is cold and stiff in the morning when you're getting ready to leave. Let alone coil it up into a 5 gallon bucket.
