- HalmfamilyExplorerI use a Yakima roof rack and J cradles on the roof of our truck. We carry 2 12' kayaks with no issues. The rear of the kayaks are about 18" away from nose of FW. I do not use a front bumper mount rack for support, the front mount hitch is for the bike rack.

I bought one of these this spring, it was expensive, but it works very well. I still kind of wish I would have built one myself for much less money, but DW said no, buy one. - TexanddexExplorerI also have front hitch with the tee (which is the same set up used the in the rear receiver to carry long boards) to carry a 14' boat.

Front hitch receiver with T and roof rack more than enough support. There have been threads on this before try search. - Son_of_NorwayExplorerDoes you 5er have a receiver on the back? I don't have access to my pictures from where I am, but if you look back I did a post about my 4-kayak rack that goes on a hitch hauler. Easy to make if you are handy with 2x4's.

- Fresno_Tundra_DExplorerWe carry our two 12 foot kayaks inside our fifth wheel. Its not a toy hauler but has enough room for both.
- sayoungExplorerWe use a Hobi inflatable
- I have access to plenty of metal, stainless and aluminum.. I fabricated this to hold our 10'6" SUP's..
I am NOT sure you will be successful for 12's??
If you have not purchased yet, the new Grand Design is showing a layout that has space for 2 under the rear cargo area, not sure of all the details? That would be a win-win as GD has a very good name here !
