I have One of these , so I can reach everything from the side of the truck. Once my jaws are open I can just turn my head and see the hitch and pin box. It is very simple.
WOW and thank you very much (as I smack myself in the head) guess what I still have the Torklift Tie Downs mounted to the frame of my truck from what I was using a slide in truck camper, all I need to do is have a welder fabricate a step similar to the one you posted a link to. It should not take more than ten seconds to slip the step into the old Torklift Tie Down mount and then remove them when I am done. That should eliminate the need to use a ladder. Another one of the reasons I have trouble seeing the hitch is that I have a 95 gallon tank mounted in the back and the top of the tank extends about 3 inches above the rear window which is just enough to block my view. I believe that AZ T&T's suggestion will be the perfect solution to my problem.
I have the truck hooked up, just took my first shower with the new oxygenics shower head I just bought (that numerous people on this forum recommended). I have clothes in the washing machine and after I finish watching a movie and read some more threads on this forum I am going to take a nap and head off to N.Y around midnight.
To be absolutely honest I didn't know if anyone would come up with a better way of hooking up but I think I have the perfect solution
