How fast do you tow?
Today while driving home from work a truck towing about a 36 foot fifth wheel blew by me. I was already going 75 so I sped up and followed him for about three miles. I was pacing him at between 87-93 ...

What is considered OK? ... um .... how about the speed limit or slower! Regardless of anyone's excuses .... anything over the speed limit IS speeding and breaking the law. Excuse it away any way you want, it's still breaking the law!. AND technically, subject to a fine if you are anything OVER the speed limit. (Enforcement? That's a totally different subject!)
What would you have done? Well, definitely not sped up to see how fast he was running. I run the speed limit. I have come to the conclusion, "I am NOT impeding traffic! They are speeding!" Regardless .. here again, speeding is speeding. What would I do? Like I always do, let him pass and just hope and pray a police car is ahead with his radar on!
Hopefully, you drive with this attitude in the curb lane, and not in the HOV or #1 lane. Doing that here in AZ =could= get you run off the road if not shot. I've seen DPS here pull over someone in the HOV lane doing exactly the speed limit, with a 1/2 mile gap in front of him. I knew that they would at least get a warning, if not a citation, for "impeding traffic", which =is= on the books and has =no= speed limit reference. Basically, if you're driving in such a manner as to impede traffic, whether at 35 or 85, you can be cited. It's =much= safer, as countless studies have shown, that speed =differential= is what's dangerous, not speed alone.
