How long is too long? (Over 40 feet - legal?)

We have found a very long DRV we like - the 43' Dallas.

A couple of concerns:

1 - How limiting is that going to be in campgrounds over something like a 36' model. (We found a Lifestyle/Carriage at 36' that we like - just not as well as the 43' Dallas).

I am aware of This Topic which addresses the above question in the 40' range. What about 43' (and the actual length is likely a little longer in total length.

2 - What about maximum legal trailer lengths? According to the information linked below, it would appear that a 43' trailer would be over the maximum trailer length limit in quite a few states, but if that's the case, why would DRV even offer a unit that long? Can 5th wheels be longer? Is this a real concern? I would hate to hit the California border, for instance, and be turned away or fined for over trailer length. If our trailer choice is going to cause us legal grief, we'll just choose something else.

3 - I guess this is a question for me to figure out, but a 43' trailer with a Volvo 610 Smart Deck would probably put us over 65' total length, which means exceeding the overall length limit in many states.

Maybe this isn't a good trailer choice??? But then why is it on the market? Hmmm.
