How long until I get it

What kind of wait times for delivery on an ordered unit have people been experience lately on Forest River products. We ordered a new Forest River Rockwood fiver in mid-April and was told 6 to 8 weeks which works fine for us as we have no trips planned until after July 4th holiday. Friends of ours ordered Forest River product (Flagstaff) on April 1 and it has yet to be delivered. Call to dealer (different from ours) did not give them much confidence that it would be soon. Waiting for call back from our dealer on the status of ours but now I am concerned it could longer than 8 weeks (June 17 would be 8 weeks).

    Call Warren Buffet- He bought into Forest River get him to deal with it.... LOL

    They will blame it on weather, supplier or demand which maybe true. I've watched as RV brands or models become popular the factories have trouble keeping up with demand. They add third shifts, expand facilities but that takes time.

    Forest River products seem to be hot right now.

    Your dealer will be the best source to find schedules as they stand at any given time. He will have no control over it but gets regular reports from FR.

    RV manufacturers typically build units on "runs." That is they build similar units at the same time, and then set up to build other units that are equally similar. If you order a unit that is in production or going into production next, you wait time will be little. If you order a unit that is not in production and not scheduled for production, you may wait a very long time.

    Ordered my Sabre REQS 1/10/13, delivered to the dealer 2/12/13.
    Picked it up 2/28/13

    This is how they do it, find out from your dealer when the next production run of your model will be.

    Another - the dealer can find out when the unit is scheduled to be started building and finished building (though, options like full/partial paint add to their finishing time).

    The biggest wildcard are the delivery drivers. Unless you're using a big wholesaler, your dealer likely doesn't send drivers to the factory to pickup rigs and are at the mercy of the availability of drivers.

    8-10 weeks at this time of year should be pretty common.

    We just ordered our Sabre 33RETS. It's in production and scheduled to be delivered to the dealer just before the 4th of July holiday.
