Michigan and Texas have reciprocity. So the dealer in Michigan collects 6% of the 6.25% sales tax, I get a receipt, then on final registration in Texas, I pay the remainder of .25%. No way around the taxes.
I get a 15 day temp tag license tag. and need to get it registered in Texas by the end of the 15th day. (or face and additional fee from Texas)
