In the FWIW dept. My new trailer had a unique history which I knew going in. It was 14 months old when we bought it. That being said I looked at the dealer price, 32k vs MSRP 52k. Checked around on the 'net and closest I could get was 35k. Let the fun begin. He was abt 3k under what I figured was trade-in value on mine (offered from another dealer), but 3 k under the best internet price. Basically call it even. We haggled around on the required second AC and that's kinda where we stopped at, about 1k apart. The business manager got involved and went off and put a sharp pencil to it and came back with where we were pricewise but with the second ac thrown in not added onto the price. We picked it up 4 days later.
Did I get a good price on the trailer? Yes, best I could do on the internet was 3k higher.
Did I get a good trade-in price? No but it evened out.
Did I get what I wanted? Yes, second ac and all.
Was I happy? Yes
Why, partially because of the deal and partially because I had used the dealers service dept just before the trade. Our old trailer needed some minor work and it was done rapidly (1 week) and very reasonably. Very happy with their service dept and that was a big factor in the decision to browse their lot. I feel comfortable with the dealer and the service dept.
