2 experiences in all my years of camping. 1st was out in the desert, luckily we were in camp when a friends converter/charger caught fire. Took 3 small extinguishers to get it out. If he was by himself would have been a total loss.
Another friend just purchased a new stacker from an estate sale. Husband and wife were in a newer 40' motorhome when the right front tire blew. Several electrical wires were run in the area and of course the exit door is right there also. Started fire, extinguisher used, no help. The couple proceeded to the rear of the rig. Latches on emergency exit were opened but, they think due to being stored in a hot environment, the seal on the window had made impossible to open. They did not make it.
