How much grease?
I read that we should put some grease on the hitch head of the 5th wheel. Is this true? How much? How often? I am getting my first one this week and would like to know.

Like others have said, use a lube plate and that will minimize the mess. I add a little grease to my kingpin and a little to jaws on my Companion before each trip. Then when the trip is over I remove all grease from pin box and hitch. That way it doesn't attract all the dirt and stuff.
