How often do you drain hot water heater tank?
Camping every other weekend or so, I've always drained the tank after every trip. Talking to my dad, he thinks I'm nuts and drains his once a year, when he winterizes. What do you weekend campers do?

- What about the extra weight? Would it be better to drain it before moving to another RV park? Or is there a reason for not draining it that often?

I am not sure what you are asking. I drain my fresh water tank and the water heater after every camping trip. I have easy access to both. I think it reduces any corrosion or organic build up in the tanks. Never had a problem so I'll keep doing it. Just habit I suppose.- Mine drains every time my wife takes a shower!

- At the end of season only. Why make extra work for yourself? If water is chlorinated it is not a problem. If it is untreated well water maybe there is an advantage to dumping it? However for the most part there is no benefit to dumping it.
