- rockintomExplorerDexter Axle service manual says:
Every 3,000 miles. I usually do mine after each major trip. Always remember to clean the grit and grime off of the grease zerk each time before greasing. Otherwise you'll pump that grit right into the joint. That goes for your car and truck too! rockin' - RanduExplorerDepends on miles driven. I grease mine at the first time out in the spring which is Mid to late March and then again in July to get me the rest of the year which includes 1600 mile trip every Dec. Also if I need to pull wheels for anything or if I start to hear the suspension squeaking. Just a few pumps until its oozing from around the leaf eye. I usually wipe off excess to prevent it from attracting dirt. Best if weight is off the springs for even flow. Sometimes grease will not go in if weight is on opening in bolt. Randu
- Ron_NielsonExplorerOnce a year is plenty, unless you're towing more than 20,000 miles. Also, there are new indestructible inserts that NEVER NEED TO BE LUBED. Those are the ones I would get!
- AllworthExplorer IIAfter each "long" trip (3,000 miles or more) or every soring, whichever!
