I wasn't sure I would like this, but it has proved to work out perfect so far. The TV just swings down from the ceiling. It has a gas shock to retract, so just a touch and its out of the way so you can access storage, then just pull it back down.
The basement is tall enough I haven't had to worry about interference with storage.
