This setup should work well with a 5th wheel trailer. For me however this is would a hugh effort to load the boat on the top of the truck... Looks like great clearance all the way around and would not interfere with turns etc while towing the the fifth wheel. I have seen KAYAKs mounted this way but not a full boat
