If the RAWR wasn't important then why have it on the door sticker? And why do RAWR'ings change and the payload doesn't? The payload doesn't change because it's limited by the GVW. The RAWR is only limited by tires and the axle manufacturers rating. It's funny that they change the RAWR and not the GVW when higher rated tires are used. That right there tells me that 3/4 tons are capable of hauling more and the GVW is only a number that's there to help conform with registration, ins or whatever some other dubious reason a state legislature has dumped on the users state.
