I work from the roof. I actually will climb carefully onto then slide roof of needed. I just make sure I move very carefully as not to hear all of my weight in one area. The roof is not designed to bear much weight. Putting down a 2' x 4' piece of plywood on slide roof would do the trick to work on as well.
